Associate, Investment Team

We are seeking an Associate with 2–5 years of investment banking, venture capital, project finance, or related experience to join our New York office.

About The New Industrial Corporation

The New Industrial Corporation (“The NIC”) is an investment platform operating at the intersection of venture capital and infrastructure development. We back early-stage technology companies seeking to scale through revenue-generating facilities, and we serve as the active developer of those projects.

Our team brings together developers, investors, engineers, veterans, and company builders with a shared mission: to remove barriers to commercialization and deliver the infrastructure required for the next generation of industrial leaders.

Supported by leading venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, The NIC offers unparalleled exposure to high-profile transactions and engagement with some of the most influential figures in the industry.

The Role

We are seeking an Associate with 2–5 years of investment banking, venture capital, project finance, or related experience to join our New York office.

This is a unique opportunity to join a new investment platform as an early contributor, building from the ground up. As part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team, you will gain direct exposure to pioneering transactions at the intersection of industrials and technology, while shaping the growth of companies that are redefining the “New Industrial” economy.

As an Associate, you will work across the full investment lifecycle — from origination and diligence through structuring, negotiations, and portfolio value creation.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the role will include, but are not limited to

  • Evaluating inbound investment opportunities and providing informed, initial assessments for the management team.
  • Conducting detailed financial modeling, valuation, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Leading diligence activities across technical, commercial, and financial workstreams.
  • Preparing professional materials for the Investment Committee and external partners, including investment memoranda, presentations, and term sheets.
  • Supporting senior team members in negotiations, transaction structuring, and execution.
  • Supporting business development and marketing initiatives as required.
  • Actively contributing to overall business growth and company culture.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, venture capital, infrastructure finance, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling, project finance, valuation, and transaction execution.
  • Strong analytical ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive, intellectual curiosity, a grateful spirit, and resilience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in small, high-intensity teams.
  • Deep interest in infrastructure and technology as global growth drivers.

Why The NIC?

By joining The NIC, you will:

  • Work closely with senior decision-makers and have a direct impact on strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with top-tier syndication partners across both infrastructure and venture capital ecosystems in Canada and the U.S.
  • Be part of a culture that values rigor, ownership, creativity, joy, and clarity of thought.
  • Benefit from competitive compensation with performance-based upside.
