Peter leads the firm’s strategic initiatives and market positioning efforts. Peter works closely with industry participants, government agencies, and strategic partners to identify emerging opportunities and ensure alignment between The NIC’s investment activities and long-term mission.

Peter is a former Congressman, having represented Michigan’s Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives and serving on the Homeland Security, Foreign Affairs, and Science, Space, and Technology committees. His major legislative accomplishments include the DHS Trade and Economic Security Council Act of 2021 and the National Supply Chain Database Act of 2021.

Peter previously served in the US Army Reserves, deploying to Iraq in 2010 to conduct intelligence operations. After Iraq, he led disaster-response efforts in South Sudan and the Philippines before working with an international NGO in Afghanistan. Prior to running for Congress, Peter worked in alternative investment management in New York and urban redevelopment in Detroit.
